Fleabitten
Productions is a theatre company dedicated to the creation of quality,
professional entertainment that is both intelligent and
accessible. It is our goal to provide a safe environment
for artists to create and audiences to enjoy theatrical
entertainment of all kinds.
Fleabitten
is the brain-child of Gregory Cohen and Joe Hogan.
Developed out of a love for all aspects of theatre, Greg and Joe
decided to pool their resources, talents, and energy into
creating theatre in a fun, friendly environment.
Because
of their avid love for dogs, Greg felt the name "Fleabitten"
was an appropriate name for their new endeavor. Because
Joe's Basset, Winston, has the perfect "sad face", and
Greg's Welsh Corgi, Phoebe, seemed to wear a constant smirk, Joe
suggested that Fleabitten's logo should be a twist on the comedy
and tragedy masks. Thanks to the artistic talents of
Anthony Lazalde, the logo was created and Fleabitten
Productions was born.
 Gregory
Cohen has been a director and actor in the Southern California
area for nearly 20 years. He has directed comedies,
dramas, thrillers, classics, musicals, and farces. Some of
his favorite directing jobs include Lend Me a Tenor, A
Few Good Men, Daughters, A Midsummer Night's Dream,
and Veronica's Room. He has appeared onstage in
such varied roles as "George Milton" in Of Mice and
Men, "Moon" in The Real Inspector Hound,
and the title role in Where's Charley?. Greg
teaches acting workshops based in his extensive training in
improvisation and is also a certified hypnotherapist,
specializing in eliminating stage fright and strengthening
self-esteem. He is happily married to local
director/musical director/choreographer, Kysa Cohen, and is the
proud dog-dad of Phoebe, a frighteningly intelligent Welsh
Corgi.
 Joe
Hogan graduated from the University of Southern California with
a BA in Theatre in May of 2000 and has been performing in Los
Angeles and Orange County ever since. Some of his favorite
roles include Albert in Bye, Bye, Birdie, Hero in A
Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Leo Davis in Room
Service and Eugene Morris Jerome in Biloxi Blues.
Joe directed Snoopy!!! The Musical his senior year at USC
and has also produced and directed several musical reviews in
Southern California. Joe loves every aspect of theatre and
has worked as stage manager and set designer of such productions
as Peter Pan and The Sound of Music. Joe is
the proud father of Winston, the slightly taller than average
Basset.
